When the temperature rises, the last thing anyone wants is a heavy, plated meal. Enter the Shrimp Caesar Wonton Cup—a sophisticated, crunchy, and refreshing appetizer bite that perfectly balances the creamy richness of a classic Caesar with the satisfying snap of a baked wonton shell.

By using a "double shell" technique, these appetizers stay perfectly crisp for hours, even after being filled. They are the ideal handheld solution for your next patio party, rooftop gathering, or summer barbecue.
Why You’ll Love These
- Maximum Crunch: The double-layer wonton construction prevents the dressing from making the shell soggy.
- Fresh & Zesty: The combination of chilled shrimp, crisp romaine, and punchy Parmesan creates a bright flavor profile.
- Easy Prep: You can bake the shells ahead of time and assemble them in minutes when your guests arrive.
Ingredients
For the Crispy Shells
- Wonton Wrappers: 24 square wrappers.
- Olive Oil Spray: For light coating.

For the Shrimp Caesar Filling
- Shrimp: 1 pound cooked, peeled, and deveined shrimp (tails removed, chopped into bite-sized pieces).
- Romaine Lettuce: 2 cups, finely shredded.
- Caesar Dressing: ½ cup Caesar Cardini's Dressing (or your favorite homemade recipe).
- Parmesan Cheese: ¼ cup finely grated, plus extra for garnish.
- Lemon Juice: 1 teaspoon (freshly squeezed).
- Black Pepper: Freshly cracked to taste.

Instructions
1. Master the Double-Shell Bake
To ensure these stay crunchy, we stack two wrappers together to create a reinforced vessel.
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Lightly grease a mini-muffin tin with non-stick spray.
- Take two wonton wrappers and place them into each muffin cup, rotating them slightly so the corners don't perfectly align (this creates a more decorative, jagged edge).
- Lightly mist the top of the shells with olive oil.
- Bake for 8–10 minutes or until they are golden brown and firm to the touch.
- Remove from the oven and let them cool completely on a wire rack.
2. Prepare the Filling
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the chopped shrimp, shredded romaine, Parmesan cheese, and lemon juice.
- Gently toss with the Caesar dressing just before you are ready to serve. You want the ingredients coated but not drowning, to maintain that crucial crunch.

3. Assemble and Serve
- Right before guests arrive, spoon a generous tablespoon of the shrimp mixture into each cooled wonton cup.
- Top with an extra sprinkle of Parmesan and a tiny pinch of freshly cracked black pepper.
- Serve immediately while the shells are at peak crispness.
Pro-Tips for Success
- Prep Ahead: You can bake the wonton shells up to 2 days in advance. Keep them in an airtight container at room temperature.
- Stay Cold: Keep your shrimp and dressing chilled in the refrigerator until the very moment you mix them. A cold filling inside a crisp, room-temperature shell is the hallmark of a high-end appetizer.
- Add a Kick: For a little extra summer heat, add a pinch of red pepper flakes to the shrimp mixture or top with a tiny piece of sun-dried tomato.
